Point Reyes National Seashore
Point Reyes is so beautiful in the winter and early spring. Not long after the first rains arrive, electric green grass covers the hills. Not long after that, the flowers arrive en force. There are countless species of wildflower that define nearly any hike or journey to this area at this time of year. Yet, from a photographer's perspective, it can feel like there is a narrow window of only a day or two to capture pictures of the full bloom. In this image, we are looking north, over the field of flowers to Tomales Point in the near background. In the distant background you can see the headlands of Bodega Bay along the Sonoma coast.
